In determining recommendations for actions necessary to achieve these goals, various characteristics of the township have been considered. The ultimate goal of the Master Plan is to create a true community within the limitations imposed by existing, inflexible conditions, while preserving the natural resources both for environmental reasons and for the intangible benefits which they provide. On the Economic Development home page, you will also find links to various local and state partners who can assist with your development needs.The following Master Plan has been developed by the Clement Township Zoning Board and updated by the Clement Township Planning Commission. In Okemos and Haslett you will also find the mixed-use planned unit development (MUPUD) zoning amendment recently passed allowing for taller buildings and more dense development, as well as a guide for the Meridian Redevelopment Fund designed specifically to financially assist development in these two key areas. For your consideration we have compiled a comprehensive packet of information outlining the opportunities for each. Each space has its own unique story and vision for future development. They are Downtown Okemos, the Four Corners of Haslett and the Carriage Hills Shopping Center. In the 2017 Master Plan, the Township has identified three areas as Potential Intensity Change Areas, or PICA's.
